LEADING WOMEN EXPRESS NETWORK NAMES 2011 Network WOMAN OF THE YEAR (See Press Release) Geanna Kincanon
(Bryan, Texas) Geanna graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and
Psychology. She has earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and has more
than 20 years' experience in the field and in industries
including biotherapeutics, telecommunications, and consumer goods and services. Geanna is currently the Human Resources and Compliance Manager at G-Con Biotherapeutics, LLC.
As an active member of the Brazos Valley Society for Human Resource Management (BV-SHRM), she is
serving her second term on the Board as the Vice President of Membership. Geanna joined ABWA in 2007
and has since held many leadership positions in Leading Women Express Network (LWEN), the Bryan‐College
Station Charter Chapter and the Houston Area Council (HAC). She was nominated as LWEN's Network Women
of the Year 2010 and was recently named LWEN's Top Ten Candidate for 2011.
Geanna enjoys living in Bryan‐College Station, is actively involved in the community and volunteers with various service organizations. She balances her life with family, is the mother of four, Brandon, Brittany, Brooke and Brayden and is a grandmother to Nevaeh.

LEADING WOMEN EXPRESS NETWORK NAMES 2011 TOP TEN CANDIDATE (Press Release)
(Bryan, Texas) The Leading Women Express Network of Bryan/College Station, a chapter of the American Business Women’s Association has named Geanna Kincanon its 2011 Express Network Top Ten Candidate.
Kincanon graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology. She has been building her career, most recently at West Corporation as the Director of Human Resources. A team member at West since 2006, Kincanon has been responsible for major corporate accounts such as American Express, T-Mobile and Dish Network.
Kincanon balances her career with family; she is the mother of four; Brandon, Brittany, Brooke, and Brayden and is a grandmother to her precious granddaughter, Nevaeh. Kincanon enjoys living in the Bryan-College Station area and is actively involved in the community volunteering in many organizations including the Bryan- College Station Chamber of Commerce. Acting as a dual member of ABWA’s Leading Women Express Network and the Bryan-College Station Charter Chapter, Kincanon is passionate about helping others grow both personally and professionally. Kincanon currently serves as the Vice President of Education & Resources for the Leading Women Express Network.

Nominees for the awards were submitted to a three member committee made up of Leading Women Express Network members: Kathy Norwood, Donna Patterson, and Debbie Waskow and were then submitted to an outside panel for final selection. The chosen candidate then competes on a National level with other candidates from all over the country.
Awards National Recognition:
DEBBIE WASKOW: 2009 AND 2010 ABWA TOP TEN BUSINESS WOMAN CANDIDATE FOR LWEN
I am honored to be ABWA’s Top Ten Business Woman Candidate for the Leading Women Express Network for 2009 and 2010. It is an exciting time! I attended the 2008-2009 Top Ten Luncheon honoring the Top Ten candidates from around the country at the ABWA National Conference in Kentucky last year, and I am proud to represent you again this year at the ABWA National Conference and Top Ten Luncheon in Kansas City.
Applying for Top Ten is a time consuming and grueling task, but one that I was proud of after completing - twice! It took hours of writing, researching, looking back in the past and sharing personal information which I have kept to myself, my closest friends and family. I had to share my professional goals, my life experiences, and my ABWA historical profile. I shared how ABWA has helped me achieve my goals and what I have done personally to fulfill the mission of ABWA. I included my formal education, and career accomplishments, and my resume, which included my business experience from my first job in 1973 to my present position(s) in 2009. Finally, I listed my community involvement. I am sharing this information because I want the members to understand the process of applying for Top Ten.
As I mentioned in my TopTen application, I jumped into this organization with gusto. I am a strong supporter and member of LWEN. I want to share the excitement of this organization and its members whenever possible and I enjoy sponsoring guests (and future members) to the meetings. My personal growth has been from listening to and absorbing the knowledge of other members of ABWA. I enjoy my strong support network. I believe in mentoring members, and being mentored. I believe in supporting members businesses. As I also mentioned in my TopTen application, I have become a customer of at least 32 member businesses throughout my membership with LWEN. I believe in career development and enjoy attending ABWA conferences and seminars for the educational classes and programs, networking and the rush and awe I get from walking into a room of 700 business women at a national conference.
I have personally grown from being a member of LWEN and I cannot think of another organization I would rather be in and represent than LWEN and the wonderful women who are members. Thank you for supporting me as your ABWA Top Ten candidate!
